serious sam 3 will not start
i click play then a finishing instillation message comes up then reaches 100% then says it failed and the servers are too busy and that it is error53. This has happened for the last 2 days.

no none of them worked. I done the refresh all steam thing. Uninstalled the game countless times. Checked the integrity of the game. I think i have tried everything.
EDIT: i checked other discussions and noticed they posted log files so i checked for mine at the location and never found any. Is that normal considering it has not finished installing..

Yes, that would be "normal" not to have logs as Steam doesn't even try to launch the game. Steam's client somehow doesn't want to fully download it for some reason (or at least it thinks so). If none of the mentioned above helps, then you should contact Steam support. It is definitely something with the Steam client or its connection to the Steam servers bugging out.

One question would also probably be - do other freshly installed games do the same thing? Have you tried completely removing SS3, restarting Steam, and then installing SS3 again? (Assuming your bandwidth allows for such experiments.)

oddly enough it happened with counter strike global offensive when i never played it for a long time and i had to reinstall it a few times and what not for it to work. I have tried reinstalling ss3 a few times and steam but neither seem to work. I contacted steam support a few days ago and I am still waiting for a reply. Thanks for your help and I hope steam support find the solution

Finally fixed it no thanks to steam support. Anyway what I done was disable my anti virus and firewall then exit from steam and sign in again. Next start the game and magically it worked. Hope this helps anyone having trouble.
