Can't split-screen

Feel like I'm missing something obvious. When we try to split-screen coin-op, it starts the game and plays through the intro but when it starts all we can do is spectate. Help?

uhm,... from steam, by pressing play. Are there other ways?

Yea i meant specifically the split screen game mode.Took me about 30 minutes to see "Choose Layout" after i put in all the other settings.

split screen --> coop --> coin-op --> choose profile --> selecct player controls --> choose layout --> select a layout

then the game starts, intro is shown, after which everyody is stuck in spectator mode

Worked fine for me once i found "choose layout"

i've tried all other coop split screen modes and they all work fine. Only the coin-op has this problem.

is there a log or something I can post?

Interesting. Seems like it happens if the level starts with a cutscene. If you start split-screen coin-op on e.g. Broken Wings, you can play normally, but if you do it on Summer in Cairo, it gets stuck in spectator like you said.

I have reported that as bug 26955. It should be fixed for the next patch or the one after it (there's already one in the pipeline, not sure if this will make it).

thanks AlenL, looking forward to the patch, nevertheless BFE is great fun, especially with some friends on the couch.

another clue:
in other coop modes i can skip the cutscene (by pressing fire on all controllers), however, in coin-op, i cannot skip the cutscene

On the other hand, feel free to report bugs you find. As every future game is built on the latest build of the previous game, every bug reported and fixed for SS3 is a bug fixed for SS4 as well!

First off, thanks for accepting the bug into your pipeline. I just wanted to ask.. any updates? I'm craving a good split screen session with my friends :D

The bug was fixed in the meantime, and the fix will appear in the next patch. Can't promise exactly when, but it could possibly be in about 10 days from now.
