Sound problem during cut-scenes.
Hi everybody!

Like the title says, the sound stop playing during the cut-scenes. I searched for others threads and Google, but i have found no answer.

Mi config:

Athlon II X3 460 - 3.40 Ghz
4 Gb RAM
Radeon HD 4670 512mb DDR3
300 GB HDD
ASUS M4A87TD/USB3

It can happen if frame rate is really low so rendering and sound get out of sync, or if disk speed is problematic (e.g. too much fragmentation, or something going on in the background so the sounds cannot be streamed in on time. Have you tried lowering the rendering settings?

I tried that, i set gpu and cpu speed in low/medium. Didn't work.

Also, tried running the dxsetup in administrator mode. No luck. I read that in other thread.

Hm, perhaps you might want to try switching to OpenAL or DirectSound, instead of XAudio?

I modified "sfx_iAPI=1" in the SeriouSam3.ini, i think that's Open Al. No sound at all.
Now, sfx_iAPI=2, the sound is too low, no music in music, and weapons sounds stops when Sam is speaking in game.


I forgot: I'm using Win7 ultimate 64 bits

Hm, maybe try with another soundcard? I guess that one is onboard, can you try with USB headphones or something?

abrafacs, that's not the same thing. Maveric has sound, just has problems with synchronisation.

I think I have the same problem on Linux.

AMD phenom II X4 3.2 ghz, 4 gig of ram. HD5750 1 gig ram.
pc is dual boot openSUSE 12.2 64 bit and W7 pro 32 bit

When a movie starts or the camera switches, the sound stops for a short while, and also the vid stutters for a moment.
Setting kernel setting to performance changed nothing for this problem.
( it did solve the fps drop in game though)
On win 7 the vids are 100% fluently. So something on Linux is not working right.
Could this be the amd linux drivers? On Linux I am on 13.2 beta 6.

In a week or two openSUSE 12.3 will be released.
I will try that, because of newer kernel, newer mesa.

arc|Gps, again... it is hard to say anything without log files. On Linux it could be related to which underlyign API is powering OpenAL. Is it alsa, or pulseaudio? Sometimes changing that can help, but I guess it can be different for each hw.
