Less steep increase of difficulty in survival?
I am an occasional gamer.... Maybe there is a console command for letting difficulty not increase too fast?

There are no difficulty settings in Survival, the "difficulty" you talk about is how the level have been created to spawn the enemies on you, you can't change that with console commands. Survival itself can be interpreted as a sort of "Challenge" levels, that's why you get medals for it.

I understand, and actually I already knew. But still, I thought it would be nice to set the difficulty, then of course switching off medals and special achievements.

Are there user made survival levels that are less steep?

Dunno, but you can give them a try, I made 11 survival maps myself. Check for the Survival Ultrapack collection in the workshop, that has my maps and many great other Survival maps and its requirements in a single pack. (I really have to update that pack now that I mention it.)

I did. Much appreciate your work. Will keep me busy for some time. I guess it is much work to make a survival pack. Would it be much work for me to make one? (I have programming experience in scripting and system languages.)

Interestingly, it's not the scripting that takes a long time, but making the level itself, even if you only use the official resources.

So there is more design than scripting involved, I understand. Okay, where should I start? Can you give me a few pointers (I mean URLs)? Then I can assess what is needed, also timewise :-)

You could try a mod or 2 to make your weapons more powerful or to take less damage or something like that. They are very easy to download from the workshop.
