Love this game
My favourite shooter since Far Cry, I think. The fast paced "old school" gameplay is delicious and has been sorely missing in games for far too long. Duke3D traditionally being my favourite FPS, I have a thing for fast maneuvering and firefights bearing multiple projectiles to be dodged.

All the standard bullet-based modern FPS' kill the art of maneuvering around projectiles in a firefight because their enemy attacks are all instant-hit based, and not travel-to-target-time based. It's bugged me for a long while, but when your game features all instantly-hitting bullet-based weapons, you kill all the dynamics involved in dodging and maneuvering. You also apparently end up with a slow-moving generic shooter.

Anyways, love this game, thanks Croteam!

Maybe that's too positive and not cynical enough, hmm... ok, well it could use a touch bit more variety in level appearance, but generally the setting looks great too, and Egypt is always attractive. I'd love to see a new SS game based in ancient Egypt. I'm sure the sights and sensations presented using modern hardware would be absolutely mind-blowing.

SSHD is your game then, that has Ancient Egypt with almost the same engine as was used for SS3.

I have it, but I'd love to see a new SS installment that again takes place in ancient Egypt.
