Mouse not working after 2nd Start
I just bought this game yesterday and there was no problem after playing it for an hour or so. However, after starting it up today, the mouse was not working at all. Only the keyboard is working.

Im using a 15" Retina Macbook Pro.

OSX 10.8.2
2.3Ghz Core i7
Geforce 650m

Any help?

Yes I did. In fact, the download took a while as my internet was slow, so it finished downloading at around 10:30PM(GMT+8). I booted it up to test it and see if it was running. Everything went smoothly and I played the campaign for around an hour or so. After that i closed it and turned my laptop off for the night. The next day when i booted my laptop up and when I ran SS3, the mouse stopped working completely. Only the keyboard worked. Not even the trackpad worked. Tried using different mouse to no avail.

Oh right, there was no cursor. Not even at the menu screen.

I mean, when you "turn off" your laptop, does it really shut down, or does it merely hibernate? Most computers nowadays default to hibernation which could cause strange issues in rare cases.

That is totally weird. Can you please try running in windowed mode (change it in the options, using keyboard, then relaunch the game)? Also please paste the Sam3.log file.

The mouse works when windowed, but when switched back to full screen, stopped working again. Tried it twice.

So, it is there in window.... hm.... Ok, then, in full screen if you press F1 to invoke the console, does the mouse pointer appear?

Let me clarify one more thing please: this applies to menu mouse only, or does looking around inside the game level stops working too? Sorry for going back and forth, but I'm trying to gather as much info as possible, since we cannot reproduce this problem.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I installed SS3 BF3 last night on my Retina 15", same specs as the first commenter, and there's no mouse pointer, using either trackpad or a Logitech mouse. I can navigate the menus using the arrow keys, but there's no mouse pointer either in the menus or the game. Keyboard still functions properly though.

Like the guy above said. No mouse in menus, and you cannot look nor shoot in the game.

Have you tried the latest beta? We added some things to log eventual problems connected to this. We tried to reproduce this here, but we can't, so we have to resort to bouncing it back and forth like this.

I think the issue is related to the Retina Macs and the resolution. Ive done some research online and it shows that Retina Macs are the only one with this problem.

I've had some other problems with the games and graphics with my Macbook Pro Retina, so I'm not surprised it's related to that.

AlenL, I'd be happy to try the latest beta, but you'll have to forgive me in that I'm not totally familiar with the mechanics of Steam. How would I go about trying the latest beta? And thanks for looking into this, I'm happy to provide back and forth details as needed.

For what it's worth, deleting my SeriousSam3.ini file and starting with a fresh one temporarily solved the problem, but it once again stopped working after that.
