50%~ GPU usage
30 fps... why thank you game, logic says I could get 60... which you really need for a game like this...

Any fixes?

//too lazy to google around atm

Edit: Changing gfx options down from ultra gives me 10 fps more, anything below high is the same fps... CPU usage is holding at 50% so it's not that...

Edit2: Turns out that graphics change held when changing back to ultra... lowering settings does nothing... lovely

Please post your log file. Perhaps we can see something there that hints to how to fix it for you.

We tuned the game for 30FPS when auto-detecting quality.
Can you set all performance settings to "medium", just for testing. Did this get you 60FPS?
And, also for testing, turn off wait-for-VSync, please.

Still, your system should be able to get 60FPS on "ultra" quality, so this might be some issue with AMD driver. :-/

Also, on quad cores, CPU usage should be around ~50%, or a bit more, but this could still means that your system is GPU-bound.

Barely 60 fps XD 55 ish... On medium... Oh I usually turn Vsynch off, it already was :P

Probably a driver issue :/

Interestingly enough, if I turn the cpu settings to lowest, and then turn everything up manually, I gain about 20~fps... is there some behind the scenes options that I can't change there? oooor?

TBH I'm prolly cpu bottlenecked, I've been meaning to upgrde :I But I dunno... Especially here XD

I love the dev respone, Glad I bought it, just for that :P

Ok, 55 FPS on medium definately shouldn't happen! It should be more in the range of ~155! :)
Anyhow, yes, like you put it, this really could be the driver issue, or something related to driver-motherboard-PCIex stuff. :-/

Can you experiment with driver versions, please? Trying with newer and/or older drivers. Maybe this could help, I don't know... :(

Also, what about Windows background tasks. Do you have something installed and running that chokes your machine? Can you check in task manager, please?

I might play around with drivers at a later date
I'm pretty sure I installed the card the right way XP

No background tasks :/

It really depend on the map you're on and where you're looking at, to be honest. Some SP maps are known to have fps issues, and neither cpu nor gpu are fully utilized. I got about a 30% boost if I enable multithreading, but that's still in beta so it was more for the testing than as a solution.
DEN [CT]  [utvecklare] 11 maj, 2013 @ 7:12
Can you give me some exaples of problematic locations and levels, so I can check it here...?
TIA
Cunin 11 maj, 2013 @ 10:52
Well, they're all here: http://forums.seriouszone.com/showpost.php?p=955224&postcount=96

Everytime a new driver and/or a new SS3 version is released, I update and check again, but as far as I remember, only 1 patch gave me a +1 fps boost in level 6 (that's the level I check the most for performance).

I just mean that when reporting fps issues you should always try if it's a location-specific problem or it's the same in the whole game, no matter what map and where you're facing.

Cunin, do you have the same machine as DragonTamer[MCT]?
I'm gonna need log files from you also, you know...? ;)

I'm not getting this... on my test machine with 4.4GHz i7-2600K and GeForce GTX 590 (which is not that much faster than 7970), I'm getting around 70 FPS for your two first screenshots.
That testing rig is more powerfull, but not that mush powerfull to have ~3x faster frame rate! :-/
So, I'm confused here... maybe something is wrong with your driver for sound or mobo or, i don't know... :(
I have a gtx 1070 and this is still a problem :(

I'm a few years late to the party but this game is running just awefull fort me.

GTX 1070
AMD 8350
16 gigs of RAM

I'm not a PC "pro" But I am running most new titles at 60fps high/ultra settings (with the exception of view distance/lod/geometry type settings in big open world games) This game also is not maxing out my GPU/CPU.

I'ts a shame because it's a great game. :(
