Rasta, I think that Windows8 resists version detection. Believe out next patch might fix that part. But yeah, if it is running in compat mode - don't. :)
I have verified local game cache twice and it still refuses to launch. Also reinstalled twice. I think this is a software bug, unless someone knows of a remedy..
I got the game to work, but when I try to play a match with friends it states that our versions differ. Let me post a new log file.
I'm beginning to think this is a compatability issue that will get patched, unless a dev can show me a remedy.

As for the thing about versions: It might be possible that either you or your friends are opted in the public beta, where you get patches sooner than those who are not. That might cause version differences.
He is not a dev, but he knows quite a lot about the game. Also seems to be faster than me. ;)
