I was thinking maybe that "Cannot find the file content/serioussam3/all_171822.gro, needed by Content/SeriousSam3/SignatureCatalog.dat." had something to do with it. I don't know. Just sucks this doesn't work.

I've tried running the application in different compatibility modes but that doesn't seen to have any effect on it.

You're missing an important file. Try verifying the local cache of the game. (Right click on the game in your Steam Library->Properties->Local Files)
Rasta Pedobear (your dad) Nov 29, 2013 @ 2:05am
You said you're using Windows 8.1 but the log shows you're on Windows 7. Make sure you don't start Steam or the game in compatibility mode.

What Solais said.

Rasta, I think that Windows8 resists version detection. Believe out next patch might fix that part. But yeah, if it is running in compat mode - don't. :)

Both serious sam and steam are running without compatability measures.
I have verified local game cache twice and it still refuses to launch. Also reinstalled twice. I think this is a software bug, unless someone knows of a remedy..

Okay so a new problem occured..
I got the game to work, but when I try to play a match with friends it states that our versions differ. Let me post a new log file.

Do a clean install. And by clean install I mean delete local content and manually delete anything related to the game on your hard drive and clean up the system registry.

Tried that, didn't work.
I'm beginning to think this is a compatability issue that will get patched, unless a dev can show me a remedy.

Solais is a dev. ^

lol..
Solais Dec 1, 2013 @ 11:07pm
I'm not.

As for the thing about versions: It might be possible that either you or your friends are opted in the public beta, where you get patches sooner than those who are not. That might cause version differences.

What Solais said. Again.

He is not a dev, but he knows quite a lot about the game. Also seems to be faster than me. ;)

Oh, the 'Dev Master' title threw me off. My mistake.
Solais Dec 2, 2013 @ 8:24am
"Dev Master" on Seriously! is my Admin Title, as my area of interest on the forums is the modding/mapping community (which explains why I know a lot about the games). My co-admin, Valerie is called as the "Event Master" for similar reasons.
