The application has malfunctioned
Same problem as some other people have met. I can't load the game and in some cases can't even save it though previously it worked just fine (for several years). What's wrong with it now?

We haven't updated the game, so it's probably some Windows update. Can you please post the SamHD_TSE.log file?

Not sure if this will work for you, but I launched 1st Encounter HD (after many attempts of trying to get 2nd Encounter to work) and 2nd Encounter stopped from crashing after that. It's worth a try.
But I haven't got the 1st Encounter and to purchase it to get the 2nd Encounter started... sounds strange to me.

I've filed this under issue #62642, but looking at the stack dump, it looks like some file on the disk is damaged. Have you tried doing verify game cache? If that doesn't help, I'd suspect one of your savegames. You may want to try to make a backup of them and then delete all saves to see if that will help. They are located here:

Had the same issue, where the game crashed when attempting to load a saved game. Verifying the game cache worked perfectly, so thanks.
