Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter

Great Pyramid Crash (boss walking?)
I have been having trouble with Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter on The Great Pyramid level. The game auto saves right after I compleat the arena section of the level. The boss shows up, roars, and starts walking. At this point my game crashes every time. It always goes to a grey screen and comes up with a window saying something along the lines of "the game has malfunctioned and will now close" or "there has been a problem". I have tried lowering the sampling rate of my speakers, running in compatibility mode, running as administrator, restarting the game, watching the cut seen, and ignoring the cut seen and walking forward. In the last two cases I have found that it only crashes when it reaches the point where the boss is walking forward.

One of the logs created for today is listed below. No matter what I attempted to do to fix the crash the errors shown are always the same. Please help me.

Yes I did, nothing seemed to be working. Late lastnight the game finally started working. I changed the update options for both The First Encounter and The Second Encounter to high importance and both games ran through an update that took about two minuets each. Since then both of them have been working fine.

I was playing a Tourist Fastrun today... in the final TFE level (The Great Pyramid)... trying to beat all the default times. After overcoming the first arena, exiting through the large gate, the boss awakening cut scene plays (I skip it) run towards the items (Megahealth) on the main path and the game freezes and crashes. About a week ago all this worked just fine. Hmmm...

3rd test... exit through the main gate and about 20 seconds or so after you pass, i.e. you watch the rise of the boss or if you skip the cut scene... game just crashes.

Did so... this yielded a 5.8 MB update... I started the game at the save point, no crashes, and I could finish the game. Neat.
