Game will not launch on linux under wine

I have tried playing the game but it will not run, it just sits in the process "stronghold2.exe" no window no launch nothing.

Running Linux Mint 17.1 X64
HP DV9623CL
2GB Mem
128 Dedicated Vid Mem
Nvidia Drivers 304.125 (nvidia proprietary hoses system on later versions best i could get is the 304.125)
Latest Steam Version
Wine Version 1.7.38
Dx9 libraries installed
vcrun2008 installed
am i missing something or am i just SOL w/out winblows?

I get the same thing in Linux, but when I try to run it in Windows 7 I get an appcrash when I start the economic campaign. I remember back in Wodnows XP playing this all the time without problem.

If I figure out the solution for Linux, I'll post it here, but so far it does not look proimising.

Still the same dll missing, would bet it.

download d3dx9_27.dll, as you are running linux I guess you know what you gotta do with it.
