Walls are a joke in Stronghold 1 and crusader (singleplayer).
Crusader 1 is probably the most well rounded and deepest. Overall better than Stronghold 1 given that it basically expands on every aspect of that game, although Stronghold 1 is still a great game (and at times I prefer the grassy visuals over the Crusader desert).
Stronghold 2 is the best in terms of castle simulation and economic management. I haven't played this one too much but had a blast in the short amount of time I had in the campaign.
Legends is the best in terms of offensive play- there are a ton of troops to play with, most with unique abilities. It recently got an update so you can play online via Steam. Biggest downside for me is you can only have up to 4 lords in a game as opposed to 8. Again though, TONS of troops to play with which leads to a lot of interesting strategies.
At the end of the day you can't go wrong with any of the games in the collection. Perhaps start with the 1st and just work your way through them, as starting with a newer title may make the dated graphics of the older (but generally better) games harder to take in.
Depends really what u like...
My favorite is Crusader 2 , it got some problems , but is very enjoyable
Ah good times, had to play that one many many times before i won haha
Yes that is the mission in question. I read back in the day that mission actually stopped a great many players from ever completing the game. Also there are some reports of game versions in different countries having varying levels of difficulty for that mission. A German gent posted somewhere here about his original German game version being much less difficult for that mission than the version he has now on steam. Regardless Stronghold HD is an RTS classic and should be on the game list of genre enthusiasts everywhere.
then SH 2 though i was always disappointed with the MP maps being so freaking small in most locations. wasted potential.
SH 1 had better maps than 2 even with the free zone build mechanic. (place your keep rocks)
then there is... legends.... ♥♥♥♥ maps, ♥♥♥♥ unique units, the walls lack variation, less content aside from units in every other way. just.. dont touch this if you can avoid it.. seriously its toxic.
