What's the deal with Super Meat Boy? It's one of the best indie games, and probably the best indie platformer game, ever. At least for me. Just when almost every dev trying to make games more casual, or more movie-like experiences, here comes super hard and super upsetting Super Meat Boy. It's starting as normal platformer and with every next chapter it shows how brutal this game is. Sometimes just to beat one level you will need to replay it dozens of times. Now imagine to get A+ grade on each super hard level for beating it under a predetermined time. And doing the same on Dark World, which levels are extra hard edition of super hard levels. And it's just get harder and harder until you will to die hundreds of times just to beat one level. Or not, because it will be too hard. Also, level editor - some levels made by players only left one thought: "Those levels were made to be impossible to beat... OH WOW, SOMEBODY BEAT IT BUT HOW!?". It's amazing how hard, frustrating and annoying game can bring so much fun. I'm not into S&M but this is really fun. Besides how difficult this game is, Super Meat Boy have simply but great looking graphics and amazing soundtrack - I'm not sure how much but I spent many hours listening to this OST outside the game. Especially music on levels of The Cotton Alley is relaxing and I will probably never get bored of it.
I completed already Super Meat Boy in 100% on X360, using original X360 controller - never broken one, never rage quited game. I'm not a very skilled gamer so I died for more than 25k times but hell, that was so much fun. Now, I will do the same but instead of controller I will use... keyboard. It's highly not recommended but still, it's not impossible to play on keyboard like almost everyone is saying. Also, more achievements for doing well on even more difficult things... yes, this game can be addictive. There is no other game like Super Meat Boy. Even if you might not like hard platform games, you must at least try Super Meat Boy. It's truly unforgettable experience.
