Super Meat Boy

Worth buying a control pad for this game?
I played the demo on the Xbox arcade and did quite well, but I'm finding it difficult to beat the same levels I did well on when using my keyboard. A good quality game pad would be £20 and I don't know what other games I would use one for, so would it be worth me buying a game pad just to use to complete this game?

you could also use a game pad in braid, limbo and portal but i don't think buying a controller just for one or two games isn't worth it

I totally agree with Leonard, but to answer your question. This game is a lot better with X360 gamepad.

absolutely :HangingController:
and a pad will alway be usefull in the future so you will get lots of other game who use a gamepad too even Castle Crashers recommand playing with a gamepad when you launch the game :golden:

I would say it's all up to preference i prefer gamepad for speed runs but you can easily complete the game with keyboard both work :beatmeat: so just play with keyboard for a while see if you feel comfortable with it and if not buy a gamepad. Good luck and have fun :dealwithit:
Also as many people above me mentioned you can use gamepad in almost any game.

I find it easier on the hands to use a gamepad. Perhaps I'm getting old.. ;)

Thanks for all your replies! I am very tempted to buy a gamepad now but at the same time I think I'll persevere with the keyboard and if I really can't get past this stage with it, I may have to buy one!

Eeeew please no :D

But it's definitely worth it to have a controller to play games like Super Meat Boy and other cool games that need one.

Always worth having a gamepad for your gaming PC. Any and all platformers are going to be better waaaaaay with a gamepad, especially Meatboy. Games like Borderlands 2, Left For Dead and Portal all also work very well with the gamepad.

Personally I have my computer hooked to my TV in my living room, as such KB/Mouse can be a little unweildy. I only use KB/M on PvP games that require aiming (Like Dayz, Battlefield 3, Team Fortress 2) or games that lack gamepad support entirely.

I think so, too

I guess I might be just used to it because I played it on Xbox first, but L4D is easy mode with a controller (In a good way). There is very little actual percision aiming required, its all very simple AI mobs that don't really deviate the way they move at all. Ammo is plentiful, kickback is minimal and melee is super effective. Aside from picking off smokers you can handle almost the entire game with a shotgun and a melee weapon. Unless of course you're talking about Versus mode, which is a completely different story from normal Co-Op.

L4D needs to be played on expert level. :D

What if the player is a first timer? Not everyone is an expert

Of course, but its about whether L4D is a game you should play with a controller. :P
