Worst Player of all time reports in (Stats thread)
Yesterday i beat it. 106% and A+ on any map.
It took me:

60+ hours and 15237 deaths. I doubt anyone is worse than me. In my defence i must say that around 100-200 deaths are the result of trying to get some achivements.
How do your stats look like and do you think you can beat the game? (i had doubts on XOXO)

114 hours, just beat Dr. Fetus on Light World yesterday. 5163 deaths, only 46% or so of the game completed. Pretty sure I'm worse.

you know, at least you 106%'d the game. There's not a lot of players who actually managed to do that.

I had to dig this up from the old Steam forums, but at the time I unlocked Golden God I had died 12153 times with 50.4 hours on the clock, although I still hadn't beaten the last two levels of Dark Cotton Alley. Not sure how many deaths they added to that, but I do remember XOXO was a huge pain in the butt. So you're not any worse than I was, don't worry. And as Graf said, no matter what it took, at least you were able to get 106%.

Oddly enough, now that I have almost 140h on the clock and some of the more challenging achievements under my belt, I have "only" died 11k times over the past year. I have 23871 deaths at the moment. I guess it goes to show that you keep improving even after beating the game.

Are you using a keyboard or a controller, btw? I prefer keyboard. Not trying to turn this into yet another keyboard vs controller debate, I'm just curious because some people seem to think this game is impossible using a keyboard.

Im using a gamepad. I tried it with the keyboard first (im playing a lot of emulators just with keyboard) but it was way harder for me.
I wonder if you get 106% even if you don't finish everything A+? Getting A+ was a pain in the later levels.

Also i'd say everybody can beat this game. The thing i,s most people just lose their patience and give up to early. For example my girlfriend, she gave up at the Hospital dark world, although i think she was way better than i was when playing this map.
I remember me playing XOXO for around 3 hours till i finally beat it. And 3 hours are a long time in this game if you consider how short the levels are. Especially in XOXO i didn't feel like im improving which made it pretty frustrating. I'd say this is the only level in the game which needs a bit of luck to beat it.

You need to A+ every light world level in order to unlock their dark world counterparts, but I don't think it's necessary to A+ dark world levels. I could be wrong though, but I don't think getting A+ adds to your total completition. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

XOXO must've take me at least 3 hours, and I wouldn't be surprised if it actually took longer. I'm playing the game on Mac (OSX and keyboard...two negatives make a positive, right?) and I had HUGE lag on that level even with lowest resolution and -ultralowdetail. So at least for me XOXO must've been all luck and no skill. It's the last part where I always died. I do remember the rush from finally beating it though; knowing I would never have to come back to that level was incredibly satisfying. So I guess it was worth the trouble after all.

And I agree it takes a lot of patience to be able to beat this game. The controls are so simple that it all comes down to figuring out how each level is beaten, and then it's just pracitce. That is not to say that this game doesn't require skill, because it certainly does, but I'd say having patience is almost as important as having skill.
