Would honestly like to know why this is rated so high.
No hate, It's a good game it's definately done well for a platformer, but at the end of the day it's just that... a platformer. There has been and will be so many games almost exactly like this game. I don't see where it brings anything innovative to the genre.

Properly made skill based game with smooth difficulty curve, tight controls, frustratingly hard but makes you feel absolutely boss when you beat a level.

Basically what just about every 2D platformer before it failed to do.

Don't forget some absolutely brilliant level design. And the controls are truly first rate I mean they are so good that I have never blamed the game when I fail (I always immediately know and feel what I did wrong).

If you are not sufficiently impressed you should keep playing until you reach some truly challenging levels. Die die die, succeed and then return to earlier levels and beat them at the fraction of the time you did before (and realize how much you have improved without really knowing it).

You are a super hero made of meat. This is innovative enough for this genre. Everyone can see what you get when you buy this game. It plays very well and is very fun to do the puzzles as supermeatboy. There is so nothing really bad to say about this game, although there are things we might want in it we can't have everything. Great game, $2.99 is a steal for this mini game. I'd recommend it.

Plus it references older games quite well.

Truly spoken by someone who has very little experience in the genre.

in the decade when platformer is seriously lacking? well if they release it in mid 80s I might agree with you, but that's not the case.

Because you know me and know of my experience in the genre (what a dumb post). the question was why it's rated so high, not "please bash me I have a different opinion then you" (you "truly" made yourself out to be a very immature young adult or a child altogether) I have enough to determine that like I said earlier is a very smooth game and done well, BUT adds nothing to the genre. Mario, I would say is more a complete adventure overall then this game. And while i'm not saying "N" is better, it is essentially same experience but for free.

Also in response to metal falls: Platformers are lacking because they only have a niche group that look for them. and there is only so many times you can make a platformer based around "jump over the pit" "dodge the spikes" without adding different elements to it to seperate it from the bare bones idea of the genre.

Don't forget the bosses and Dr.Fetus!

I loved it for the overall humor and absurd style, however, mainly for how it ramps of the difficulty and has little hand-holding. It handles difficulty well and after beating this game other platformers are not nearly as difficult. That said, I Wanna Be The Guy made me rage SO MUCH MORE!

Thread reminds me of Edmunds "TehInternets" video.
