Super Meat Boy has been on sale a bazillion times already, yet people know that it is a good game, and thus vote for it, despite more uncommon alternatives. I bet that 75% of the votes for SMB this time were placed by people who already own the game anyway.
I mean it was released in 2010.. The game has went through so many sales. But people vote for what they know.
Retro City Rampage which I would have liked to win was released 2012 so not so many sales for it.Shame :/
I always remember how a guy reported multiple times a security issue with SMB's database directly to the developers, even offered to help but they were like "don't worry dudebro, we've been doing this for years" and ignored the issue. Then got hacked, rendering leaderboards being full of ♥♥♥♥♥ and custom maps unplayable. Good times.
Obviously everyone has infinite money and just like to buy the same game over and over again duh! Come on man. Nobody wants a different game. They just buy several more copies of games they already have!
Seriously though. PEople just don't realize how massive the Steam userbase is. I bet people think there are about 1 million users total. XD
