How can a game as fantastic as this, that keeps you motivated to keep trying and trying and trying, getting faster and faster as you learn techniques to beat the level, have such a huge case of horrible final boss syndrome?
Sure, the final boss does everything a final boss should, make you make use of all of the skills that you have aquired, and if you die, it's your own fault. It does this fantastically, like every other boss and level in the game.
What it does that does NOT keep in pace with (most of) the rest of the game is keep the pacing up. For a game that, all throughout the game has encouraged you to go through a level faster and faster, respawning you satisfyingly fast, start off each new life with 10 seconds of not being able to do anything other than avoid rockets. All the prior levels were frustratingly hard, but at least they were satisfying and were fun, deep down past the anger there was always fun.
They made this final level just plain boring. It's literally the only part of the game that I haven't had any fun with. Idk, thoughts?
