Super Meat Boy

Why the hell does Bandage Girl leave pink residue behind?
It made sense that Meat Boy left residue behind, meat tends to be wet with blood/fats/meat juices etc. But why the hell does bandage girl leave behind residue, bandages tend to be pretty dry and clean. What on earth could the residue be anyways?

It's probably some kind of lotion.

maybe it just looks better with these effects(and easier to programm to just let it)

Pretty sure it's meant to be gauze.

That's what I was thinking too, but it would still look better without the residue.
or that crap cheap bandaids leave on your skin
I think that it is left behind because Bandage girl is just a pallette swap of Meatboy.

I think it was just for consistency. She makes a squishy noise too, that doesn't make much sense.

I wouldn't bet on it, actually. She has a little white flower on her head (Meat Boy has no equivalent to swap the palette of), plus she has her own sprites in the game files.

As Zappados said it was probably for consistency. Since she plays exactly the same as Meat Boy (same speed, jump height, etc), they probably wanted to make it feel pretty much as if you have exactly the same character, and it would look to weird without the residue. It's also possible that, as Leonard said, it's easier to program, although it probably wouldn't have taken too much work if they had wanted to remove it.
