Golden God stats question

How is it that more people seem to have achieved Golden God (2.6%) than Suffragette (1.9%), The Real End (1.5%), or Seneca Falls (1.1%)?

Wouldn't Golden God have to be less common than all of those achievements, given that none of them require total completion? That is, The End and The Real End only require completion of all light and dark levels, respectively, in Chapter 6, while Suffragette and Seneca Falls only require completion of all light and dark levels, respectively, in Chapter 7. Meanwhile, Golden God requires completion of all light and dark levels in all chapters, all Bandage Gets, and every character unlock (if I'm not mistaken).

How does this work?

The 6% beyond 100% completition come from glitch worlds, and they do not count towards Golden God.

Indeed. I was just curious. I haven't achieved Golden God yet, but the only parts of the game I have yet to beat are the Dark Cotton Alley levels (Seneca Falls achievement). I presume that I'll get Golden God at the same time that I get Seneca Falls, so it was just confusing to me that some people who seem to have the former don't have the latter, or Suffragette, or The Real End for that matter.

Well, I unlocked Golden God when I still had three levels of Cotton Alley Dark World to complete so I could've left it at that if I was only after Golden God. If you can leave three levels unplayed and still achieve Golden God, in theory it's possible to get the achievement without The Real End, Suffragette and Seneca Falls. Maybe that's what many people have done? The levels you get those achievements from are the three most challenging levels in the entire game, after all.

I'm having hard time believing so many people would somehow cheat to get Golden God. If they did that, why wouldn't they cheat to get The Real End, Suffragette and Seneca Falls as well if achievements were that important to them? It's probably just a programming fault or has something to do with the game rounding up your total progress or something.

I'm just guessing, really but the differences in percentages are so minor that I doubt there's anything fishy going on there. There's no real gain in achieving Golden God, unlike Golden Gift from Kid's Christmas where people actually cheated to get thsoe lumps of coal or something during 2011(?) winter event. You might want to compare how many people have unlocked The Kid and how many have achieved Golden Gift.

Well, it's not that I suspect there's cheating going on. It just seemed counterintuitive, as well it should. Golden God is the "I Did Everything" achievement and yet you can see by the numbers that it was had by a number of people who didn't strictly do everything. I was just curious as to what the explanation was.

But you're probably right, there's probably some hidden bit of unintuitive code that just adds up progress in an odd way, such that it can count you as having done something successfully when you've done enough of it, but not exactly all of it. I mean, I got one of those "spend as little time in [...] as possible" achievements before I'd finished all the dark levels in that chapter. I can't remember which chapter it was now (probably Hell or The Rapture), but at the time I just assumed it added up the times I had gotten and made some sort of decision that I'd done well enough, even though theoretically I could still have beaten the last dark level with a time of 12 minutes or something if I'd just left the game running.

My guess is that GG only requires some form of 100% completion. If you complete glitch levels, you add to that percentage. If you complete all 6 glitch levels, that's 6 extra percent added to your total, meaning you don't need to complete some of the tougher levels in Cotton Alley and such. That's my guess.

No. In the old Steam forums many people reported unlocking Golden God with over 100% total completition. I unlocked it with 105%, having completed all the glitch levels. Glitch levels do add to total completition but not to the achievement. You need them to unlock Meat Ninja, though.
