Super Meat Boy vs. N
Just out of curiosity, how does the difficulty in Super Meat Boy compare to N (a flash game online for those who don't know)? Which is more difficult and by how mcuh?

I'd say that Super Meat Boy is considerably harder than N. During the "Light World" levels of SMB, the difficulty is about the same, but SMB has a "Dark World". This version is FAR more difficult than any N map that I have ever played. As for the play style, they're pretty much the same. Jumping off walls, running to avoid rocket launchers, getting keys to unlock objectives, and so-on. I also think that SMB is faster paced than N, too.

Hmm. Interesting. Do you think it's worth a buy for someone like me who really enjoys N? And should I wait for a sale and if so, how big of a sale?

Definitely get it. If you liked N, you'll love this game. As for waiting for a sale, I don't think it's going to be on sale any time soon. SMB was on sale just a short while ago. That's when I got it. So, if you're going to wait, you're going to be waiting for quite a while.

How about Winter Sale?

Well, you could always keep your eyes on the Humble Store. It's currently on sale for $2.49.

I can't say for sure if it will go on sale, but you can always wait and see.

Half on the last lvl of cotton alley is tenth harder than all "N". I dont even talk about dark worlds

N is much floatier and is slower paced than SMB

n is interesting but smb is more fun for me because i feel that it is more fluid and faster than n.

And its harder!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't possibly agree more with this statement. N is cosmetically deficient, while SMB has animated levels (most animations try to kill you, by the way) and colorful backgrounds.

I wouldn't wait for a sale. Super meat boy has a rediculous amount of quality content which easily justifies the 15$. Probably some of the best value you could ever get out of a game. In comparison too N i would say that it starts out easier but gets much more difficult when you start doing the dark levels. N is also much slower and floatier (not really in a bad way imo) while super meat boy is very fast and accurate. If you enjoyed N then super meat boy is an absolute no brainer.

As a hardcore N fan, I'd vote for SMB. It's the hardest thing i've seen ever, including Super Hexagon.

This thread finally convinced me to buy this game. Been looking at it for a couple years but I've always been intimidated by the difficulty it boasts. However after just watching the trailer again (since it is on flash sale for 80% off) I realized suddenly how similar the gameplay looked to N, which was a childhood favorite of mine. I'm still slightly nervous to hear this is far more difficult than N but reassured by the seemingly unanimous opinion that if you liked N you will love playing this game. Think I'm gonna finally take the dive since its only 3.00 USD :p
