Super Meat Boy
Steam Controller Config
Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows the offiical Steam controller config for Super Meat Boy? It says that the game is officially supported, yet in the game I can't seem to actually jump. Any ideas?

I set the flag to mark it "officially supported" but I haven't uploaded a build yet; there's a bug in Valve's UI that won't let me unset the flag, though. :(

This will be coming soon; right now I'm thinking move with the left pad, jump with 'A', run with one of the triggers. Mouse for Super Meat World with right pad.
Sounds good to me. I was going to set the same with my legacy controls, but I can't do that because of the officially flagged status :P

It looks like since it's marked officially supported, I can't use my Steam Controller anymore once I start the game. I pressed every button, but I can't get out of the intro cutscene or menu.

Yeah, we're working on it, sorry about that!

The Windows builds aren't updated, but Linux and Mac OS X now have a first shot at Steam Controller support (presumably, if you have a Steam Controller right now, you also have SteamOS, so yay Linux, right?)...

It's likely the configuration will change once I get some feedback, so give it a try and tell me how it feels.

I cannot use the jump button with the steam controller on windows 7. Tried modifing the 'buttonmap.cfg' multiple time but didn't find any that could work with the steam controller (model:1001). I tried to use the buttons ID from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\controller_base, tried to bind them to mouse1 and mouse2 and that didn't work also. Got any idea how to fix this?

Sorry. I was able to fix this. It was an issue with the controllers firmware and USB registration being messed up. I own a Razer Hydra and the steam controller was recongnized as a second hydra. After deleting the firmware and starting Big Picture I was able to properly register the controller with the usb hub. So it works!

Just a quick follow up on this thread: the way games are meant to interact with the Steam Controller has changed since I originally posted this. The final official controller should look like an Xbox360 controller to Super Meat Boy out of the box on all platforms, so you should just be able to pick up the Steam Controller, launch SMB, and it will Just Work.

(except on Mac right now, because of a bug on Valve's end, apparently, but that might be fixed by the time you read this.)
