I do not knowif it syncs for sure, I've lost my save before, so I would back it up manually. Just have to copy the UserData folder... can be found at C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\super meat boy\UserData

Thx, thats useful info. Can u tell me perhaps how does backup work? I saw the option but not sure how it works. Also, when u lost ur saves achievements were still the same not reseted i hope? :P
i do believe i kept the acheivements, can't remember for sure though. The steam backup sync should backup your game saves so if you use multiple computers your save is sync between all of them or if you reinstall. I would still back it up manually for just incase, and hopefully you wont need

We should keep your savegame automatically through Steam Cloud (launch the game one more time to make sure), achievements are also stored in your Steam account on Valve's servers and won't be affected by a reinstall.

Config settings, like what resolution you play in, will be lost, though, but nothing you can't trivially recreate on a new machine.

(and, yeah, if you're nervous about it, make a backup of that UserData directory someone mentioned.)

I'm really confused right now. The Store Page doesn't list as one of its features and while Team Meat originally announced to add Steam Cloud support in a patch, they later canceled that feature.

We definitely support Steam Cloud across Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. The Steam Client will show the little Cloud icon for the game if your library is in "list view" mode.

The checkbox to show it on the Store webpage is in a different place; I'll nag Tommy to fix that.

Somehow I lost my save files. I beat a few chapters a few months ago, and now I come back to the game, and all my progress is gone. I did not reformat my pc since, or anything like that, and anyway Steam cloud is supposed to help.
Not sure what to do about it.

I lost my game progress when i installed it on a different machine, this sucks really bad considering how hard the game is
Hi all,

The game data is stored in the savegame.dat file usually stored here. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Super Meat Boy\UserData.

If you have access to your old save simply copy paste overwrite and you will have your progress back. If you have lost your achievements you will get some of them. You wont get the no death world run avhievements or the glitch warp zones but everything else should come back straight away. This is also how you can start the game again should you wish, create a back up of your main save outside the userdata folder and then delete the copy in the userdata folder. When you start again it will be a clean profile. THis doesnt affect steam achievements and I'm not sure about leaederboards.

Good luck
