Super Meat Boy

I cannot STAND this game (obscenely long wait times)
Every single time I try to play this game I get stuck on a loading screen waiting for ages. It may not happen right away, but it will happen sooner or later. These waits are often so long I have to play Tetris on my cell phone just to have something to do! I assume it's trying to contact a server, because I know it constantly tried to do that one time I tried playing the game while the internet was out (which made that whole experience a waste of time). IDGAF if the server isn't there or if it's slow. Let me play the game. I bought this game for extreme platform action, not for sitting around waiting ages for it to let me do something.

Worst part is you can't even alt-tab during these waits because chances are it'll crash the game.

One of the fastest loading games I've played, and restarting from death is instant. It sounds like a problem on your end.

Working flawlessly on my PC too.

As I said, I believe it's a server connection issue. Unplug your internet and try playing the game. You will spend ages and ages at loading screens, I guarantee it.

Now imagine having this issue from time to time while your internet is actually plugged in.

Played it without Internet, still works fine.

(The Mac and Linux versions no longer try to talk to Super Meat World at start up, so some players won't experience this problem.)

The Windows version tries to talk to SMW, and eventually gives up and lets you play normally if it can't connect. I haven't tried this, but I bet one could screw with their OS's hosts file to make it talk to localhost or something, and thus make it fail faster.
The levels load in about 3 seconds for me, i'm not meaning to boast but i'm just saying it's not a problem with the game.

Yes it is a problem with the game, because the game shouldn't need to contact a server in the first place if I'm not actually using the online features.

Well, I just tried this, and everything loaded instantly. Just like before. I tried a bunch of randomly selected levels, and I spent maybe a second loading each one. Unless the issue is with playing user-made levels, which I didn't try, because they're... online. If that's where you're having issues, then of course it has to use a server.

But it seems that it certainly isn't a problem with the game. I've just confirmed that it works fine without a connection, and I believe other people have played it without one as well. I'm really not sure what the issue is, but I can guarantee it's on your end. Sorry.
