The Kid Xmas 1-5 Help
How can you make that second jump consistently? I haven't been able to do it and it cost me the Golden Gift achievement after trying for about an hour.

The trick is to hold RIGHT when you jump off that wall.

Holding right just results in the Kid jumping into the spikes. I don't know why that is. I'll keep trying I guess.

Holding right is correct, but you also need to jump from the right position, if you're too high, you'll jump into the spikes, if you're not high enough, you don't do a walljump and just jump upwards into the spikes.

So far it's been mostly sliding into the spikes that are up, some jumping into the right spikes, and the few times that I managed to avoid them and jump over, I couldn't reach the wall on the left because I didn't have the height and momentum.

For some reason, my brain and hands can't execute this jump :(

You don't need to reach the wall on the left. If you keep pressing Right after you've jumped you should be able to make your way around the spikes on the ledge and get on the space between spikes on the right.

Oh, I can do the first jump. The second one is the problem.

Ah sorry, I thought that by "the second jump" you meant the jump you need to do to get around the spikes on the first ledge. I should've watched the video further but I'm an impatient person.

For the second jump you need to keep pressing Left, then just double-jump when you're about to hit the spikes below you. This way you'll be already going to the right direction when you jump and you don't lose momentum when switching from going right to left mid-air. You also don't even have to worry about hitting the spikes on the right side wall.

It takes a bit of practice but once you get it you should be able to pass the bed of spikes pretty consistently. I made a picture which hopefully illustrates what I mean better: Click[] Circles indicate roughly where you should double-jump. I hope this helps.

Thank you very much for the in-depth explanation and for taking the time to make that image :) I'll practice and see if I can get it.

Thank you very much Kuhaa. I'm sorry I probably messed up your name in the video both times (the second time definitely).

Don't worry, you got it right on your second attempt at the beginning. I'm glad I was able to help, and I see you now have the achievement so congratulations!
