Inconsistent physics: do you get it, too?
So I plan to do speedruns one day and I have been practicing a lot lately, both on Linux and Windows. The two versions have always felt slightly different, but I had never put my finger on a specific issue until now.

Could a few people try this for me and tell me what happens on their version of Super Meat Boy?
  • go to 3-5X Wasp (factory dark world, 5th level)
  • choose Captain Viridian
  • keep “right” pressed; the character should be thrust in the air, very close to a circular saw, that you may or may not hit

Do you hit the saw? What’s your system? On Linux, I die about 95% of the time; on Windows, I never hit the saw. I thought it might be framerate-related, but I have tried a lot of different screen resolutions and that doesn’t seem to change anything.

I always hit the saw, and i'm on windows.

It's not a matter of resolution, but rather framerate, and you can probably cap out at 60fps on almost any reasonable hardware.

If your system _isn't_ capping at 60fps, things like this can probably happen.

Can't say anything about this particular case. But I have experienced another weird physics behavior, in short explanation you can slide up the wall AFTER you lose momentum and begin to slide down all this without leaving the wall, but it is in random manner, could not find how to repeat this bug
