Game has never worked for me.

No response here since posting mid-May. Followed directions from another post and successfully got the game to open in windowed mode. Still black screen with guitar riff audio.

I don't know what else to try. Gonna offer this game as a trade in a few days if I can't play. What did I buy it for if I can't play it?

:/

Went Here:

http://geekmontage.com/texts/game-fixes-super-meat-boy-crashes-controllers-black-screen-sound-lag/

Tried this:
>Step 1) Navigate to your Steam folder
>C:\\Program Files\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\super meat boy\\Prerequisites\\
>Step 2) Run the DXSetup and vcredist files to ensure they install
>Step 3) Try launching the game again
>Step 4) If still not working, then try installing the DirectX End-User Runtime using Microsoft’s >Web Installer Here

Nothing.

I understand it's Indie. What can persons do when they've been burned by purchasing a game they can't even play other than settling for a trade from a willing participant?

Thanks. Any advice is appreciated.

Not normally directly used for this type of issue, but you tried lowering the detail upon load?

How do I do that if it's a black screen?

No...I...
In your game list right click the super meat boy icon, then select properties. Under the general tab there is a "set launch options" click that and there should be a text box put in "-lowdetail" minus the quotes and save the changes. So now when it loads it will be less resource heavy and may have a BETTER chance to run.

'fraid not. That was a great suggestion tho. Still doesn't work however.

I looked up how to trade games. Wish I just could just sell it and get my money back. fat chance finding a game I want. This is such a shame.
