I guess you're playing on win10 then.
I could, of course, tell you now how to fix this, but i think people like you need to practice using the "browse forums" function of steam. There is even a handy dandy guide my friend Alphahex wrote!

Whilst i'm indeed of the oppinion that windows10 is trash, i can not judge about win10 users: Seriously i'm gonna buy a new PC soon too, and you think i had any chance than going for win10 (assuming i don't wanna use Mac nor Linux due obvious reasons.) People use win10 cuz they have no other choice.

With "people like you", i mean this true plague of people lacking even the most minor spark of common sense in order to browse their problem before creating a new thread. If you suddenly have to choke, do you except it is an utterly new disease requiring experimental medication, or do you just ask your doctor for standard medicine?

Personally I have no issues with 10 in the slightest. works absolutely fine. i actually prefer it to the previous os's.

To back up zesc7, basically this game is old, every reason the game does not run has been asked and answered, it is a case of searchig the forums and trying various fixes till you find one that works. There is no reason to keep starting multiple threads for the same issues over and over, when they have already been resolved elsewhere on the forums.

Aha, of course you did. That also explains why you gave us so many information about your gaming rig, overall software setup, etc.
I'm sorry for assuming you were using win10, but really? Starting to get passive because of that? And i thougth assuming someone gender is a no-go, not the operating system...

might be your resolution is wrong, set -safe to launch options in steam and if it boots set your resolution.

lol. You do realise you just resurrected a dead thread, to show you do not understand the difference between a google search and a Steam search. Which is what Zesc recommended. (also google has far more results than just that one :P)

I searched for what you saw and found that result.

So, I resurrected the dead thread because it's an amusing irony. Here I am two years later looking for information about crashes, and the first thing I find is some halfwit talking down to someone about how searches work. The internet is full of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ talking down at questions like it helps. I don't know if it helped the OP, but it helped me. Laugh. At the irony. It didn't help me find the answer, though. dan did that by answering it.

Also, resurrecting dead threads is fine, because information permanence is good instead of bad. Also, because the thread pertains to issues which still occur, it doesn't actually make any sense to refer to it as a dead thread. It's not about pop culture, after all. Or about something that can go stale. Also, the fact that it's a "dead thread" is part of the irony. And then, of course, there's the fact that it's also the only relevant thread for my response.

So. Cheers.

There is no irony. Zesc said to perform a search in steam. Steam not google. Had the op done that instead of just blindly creating a new thread, they would have found many threads all with relevant info in, that can help with crashes.

Even then had they used google, they would have still found plenty of threads to help them and thus this post would not have shown up in the results as it would not have needed to exist.

Also yes in some cases resurrects are fine, but again, you resurrected with no relevant info, you tried to point out something ironic, that is not ironic, as you mis-read or mis understood the situation. Had zesc suggested using google and only 1 result pops up pointing here, then yes that would be ironic, but that is not the case.

So the irony actually is that you are trying to show up Zesc, when it turn out Zesc was right and Zesc is not the one being shown up.

Also FYI and slight rant, the reason Zesc suggests searching is there are only a few people, including zesc and myself that regularily come onto the forums to help people.

If it was a new or strange issue, then fair enough but there are loads of threads with suggestions to fix this issue, why should we need to keep spending our time repeating info we have already posted. When a simple search would do the job.

If I have an issue with a game, I actually spend time to look into it, I search various forums and articles, I try as many fixes as I can. Only then if I still get issues I will post, listing my specs and what fixes I have tried in order to save wasting other peoples time.

Its like modern gamers cannot be bothered to help themselves.

Finally Zesc did help the op by telling them how to get help which may benefit them in the future. All you did was post to try and show someone up........who is the better forum user????
