Gmod freezes on main menu.

After loading,Gmod freezes on main menu..why this happens..some days ago it worked fine but now it freezing..anybody knows what to do?

I gots the same o problem. Try deleting all of your mods?

Yes, this works, delete your mods from here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\YOUR NAME\garrysmod\garrysmod\addons This worked for me, and when you start it back up your subscribed mods will download again.

The issue probably is that your all downloading your mods again in vast quantitites. When i went and purged my gmod of all the g12 mods from Garrysmod.org, i simply deleted the folder, uninstalled officially from steam, and then reinstalled. It worked well, untill it tried to install like 20 Gb really fast. The game is a glass cannon, sadly. its fun, but i can break it on a whim, and have by simply spawning a ragdoll here, a ent there, etc.

by that i meant DONT delete them... i only recently got all the addons back, and only because i backed up all the valve addon files to another folder.

Hours? try days. i was stuck starting it, crashing it, starting it, (cycle this please), and finally after who knows how long, i get it to work. thats why i always sync my addons to a backup folder now. its just an anger-saver.

Both of you are doing stupid crap.

DO NOT DELETE YOUR ADDONS!!!

Doing that will cause MORE problems as it tries to reinstall all your addons at once, not fun for even a computer that a goverment agency could get.

I ran into the same probelm, MY FIX for the solution was similar to MEGALABUN.

Wh I did was made my way to the programs files/steam/steammaps/your name/garrysmod/garrysmod/addons then I deleted the "OUTDATED MODS" this will be labeled in the folder. OUTDATED MOD or w.e. Then I restarted my PC and relogged onto GMod, this time it did not load the star tnew game or options butons it just stayed on a picture from the gmod background after the face punch screen loaded of course. and after about a 5-10 minute wait it started to load the OUTDATED mods, Now I am able to play. I hope this helps.
