SHINY IS NOT GOOD. Keep that in mind.
Move along.
The reason for this is the upset college kiddies that create malware see it more fitting to attack the largest userbase in the world rather than a runnerup who has much less than half the users of the top dog.
It's awful tough to get any sort of virus anyway unless you're a technical idiot, so don't attribute lack of viruses to the operating system itself. Just sayin'.
Alright, if I would dualboot OSx now an create a virus which creates an password to the user account on your mac, how much time would it take to fix it? Or even more importantly, how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ would you be when you realize that you can't backup your stuff anymore? While this type of virus exists on windows too, it has some tricks. Even if you have no access to your windows user anymore, you can just boot up linux and either backup everything and re-install windows, or just fix the password problem.
As far as I know you can't get into the deeper system of the mac. You can't dualboot on a mac so lets stay at "you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥, your files are encripted and gone".
And please, use Google before you throw nonsense at me.
