"Could not load library client."
Whenever I try to run garry's mod, all I get is "Could not load library client." I tried reinstalling, removing all of my addons, and validating files but nothing will work.
I don't have linux, the OS is Windows server 2008 or Vista they're identical.

I have had this problem since the release of Garry's Mod 2013, and not a god damn person has fixed it with any solution...

I have the same issue, I can't even play this on Wine anymore. I'm tired of Garry breaking more than he fixes. It's one step forward and 3 steps back and then we take a nose dive of a clliff, Garry needs to get his ♥♥♥♥ together!

i figured it out, take the garrys mod folder inside the other garrys mod and switch the folder contents around, as in copy everything inside one and put it in the other and vice versa

for anyone having this issue on arch linux 64 bit check this https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Steam/Game-specific_troubleshooting#Garry.27s_Mod

if you are having issues on another 64 distro you probably need the 32 bit gconf library (dunno what the package is called on other distros)

I can confirm that installing the 32-bit libraries for GConf (along with all of its dependencies) corrects this issue on 64-bit ArchLinux. The issue is caused by an upstream library depending on this soon-to-be-obsolete library.
