I dont know if i should buy a new PC, or what. (I play other games than GMOD) Please!! If you have any suggestions to get rid of lag, post them in the comments!

Ok, well a 4GB RAM is kind of average, I think.(RAM is not my strongsuit.) Microprocessor I am not sure I have heard of, but Intel is good at CPUs. But, If you can, are you able to provide more specifications(specs)? If so, I may be able to solve problem and/or reccomend new RAM and CPUs, or even computers. (Make sure it is a PC though, so you keep your sanity.) so, If you can provide more accurate specs, I should be able to help you.

Oh, and do you you have an overclocking feature on your BIOS? If so, it would probably speed up your computer, but it can be dangerous. It may even cause fires. but what Operating system are you on? XP? Vista? Windows 7? could you let me know? the details are very important. try and get all the specs you can on this, it would help me help you more.

Maybe lower your settings. That'll usually work just fine.

Ive lowered them all to (Low) I have a question, whats better filtering, Billinear or Trilinear or those other ones, also is it less lag if you window the game and put on lowest res.?
RandomUser Apr 6, 2013 @ 3:03pm
Bilinear sounds smaller so I guess Bilinear I don't know if windowing the game would do something but maybe. Are you using a laptop?
Duck Apr 6, 2013 @ 3:10pm
Yes i am using a laptop

Well the thing is some companies say their laptop is great for gaming but the way the computer is put together and the way it is heated is to much for it. I recommend buying a desktop usually they aren't exspensive.

Thats EXACTLY what happened... Im pissed. Also, I have cooler pad that cools my computer with fans and stuff. So should i just buy a new pc? if possible could you put a link?

I've played Garry's Mod for a long time, it was working perfectly before the new update.. Now I'm getting extremely low fps (9), and I cannot play at all. I know it's not my computer, since I was playing Arma 2 right now. I'm guessing it's the new update that happened yesterday, could someone tell me how to fix it?

your computer sounds like a pretty good one and shouldn't lag. I have a really crappy computer (1GB ram, pentium 4 3.2 GHz, ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 with 128mb) but garry's mod runs pretty well for me and only has a little lag at times. If you want to make garrys mod run better, press ctrl+alt+del to open task manager, goto processes tab, find hl2.exe (must have garry's mod open) and right click, mouse down to set priority and put it to high and accept the warning as it means absolutely nothing. DO NOT SET TO REALTIME.
