system lock up on exiting gmod?
getting system crashes on exiting gmod. not sure why. up to 30 hours at a time without a single issue but if i hit exit or alt/f4 the system locks up. reinstalled windows as well as steam and gmod just to be sure. the crash is unusual. no crash with any other game. with and without mods. no matter what i try i get crashes. i cant start the game without forcing the res to 1080P or again i get system crashes.

its not hardware. temps are low 30s across the board(cpu/gpu/motherboard/ram/hard drives/ssds) all my hardware is on water with temp probes plus the normal system temp checks. plus its all new. (within 3 months.)

i will be expermenting with
TASKKILL /f /im "hl2.exe"
to see if this will force gmod to exit safely.

had the same with 7 but 10 times worse. hourly crashes like clockwork. system wouldnt boot after, plus windows 7 lacks support for dx12 (work requirement)
Is your GPU in sync?

Hmmm??

Looks like a full screen only crash. Windowed seems to be fine. Alt tab also causes a crash.

What do you mean by "crash"? Does your screen go black?

If so, see my answer here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/4000/discussions/1/154642857138484227/

Oh cool. People should still make sure Windows is syncronised with their monitors refresh rate either way, though. Or was that the bug that got fixed?

i highly doubt it would matter with a 800hz refresh rate. the crash was related to a dx11 bug that had existed since gta 5. its to do with how the 300 and 400 series cards react to plasma displays with a refresh rate of 600 or above.

My tv is a 60Hz LCD and this problem was caused by Windows having the refresh rate set to 59Hz.

Most people I see with this problem have the same monitor refresh rate, and the same problem with Windows having it set 1 Hz lower.

I don't know what you're talking about but it sounds like an entirely different problem that not many people have. Also my GPU is an R7 250, so not 300 or 400 series.
