Game freezes when saving or in test chamber 1, need help

I start a new game, get through the first room with the block on the botton, go up the elevator and turn the corner, and the game freezes and I have to force close. It also freezes if I try to save it before I get there. Been looking around for help all over the internet and I can't figure it out. Need help please.

PC: i5 3570K OC'd, 16 GB DDR3, GTX 660 TI 3Gb FTW, Intel brand Extreme motherboard, Windows 7 64-bit

hmm, try contacting valve or steam support.

After commenting I restarted my computer. The game didn't freeze, until much later when I died. I tried restarting again and now the game only freezes whenever I die. Not as bad, but very annoying.

It fixed itself. I guess it just needed a restart, though I feel like I had trired that... Will see if continues to work as I progress through story.

I wanted to revisit this but I have this freeze-hard reset issue.
