Well with gmod you have to buy half life 2 but Portal is only fun for about 2-3 hours depending on your skill so save your money for gmod... ( I may be wrong about having to but half life 2 )

I say Portal. It's short, but it's an incredible experience. There's really nothing else like it. The writing is hysterical-GLaDOS is possibly the greatest video game character ever. And the gameplay is unique.

I think you should buy gmod cstrike and portal because if you go on a roleplay server you need cstrike textures or everything will look weird
