When you defeat Glados she says: ''I am the only one that stands between us and them.''. So this is propably a link to Half-Life referencing the Combine and other creatures. Pretty cool. Great game!

Yes, she's most likely referring to the fact that she's the only one keeping the facility safe and without her, the thing would eventually collapse and be recovered by the Combine. The world got lucky that the Combine didn't find Aperture before GLaDOS's reawakening.

My theory is that in Portal 3 as well as in Half-Life 3 is where you'd meet with the characters from the player's POV of each game (as Gordon you meet Ratman since Chell is in stasis and as Ratman you'd meet Gordon)

According to rumors Portal 3 and Half life 3 might be the same game. So Chell and the companion cube might meet the resistance and the combine now. e.e Ha... Infinite portal fall a combine soldier then place a portal so he facerams into a wall. :3

Both being the same game would honestly be a disappointment. I'd rather have the characters meet half-way through both of the series rather than being one single game because what you just said sounds more like Portal and none like Half-Life.
