Easter Egg?

I bought Portal and Portal 2 during the sale and beat both of them. I have beaten both of them many times before just not on the PC. One thing I noticed after I beat the first portal game was that after I started a new game, I noticed that the radio always shows up somewhere in each test chamber. Is this some sort of easter egg or achievment?

It's for the achievement "Transmission Received". You collect the radios (Total 26) and bring them to a certain location in the chamber.
