Factum solus mod wont work?

hey i want to play this mod as it looks good but every time i start it it is blank white and then gives error: cant find background image /conole/startup_loading.vtf

Anyone know why!?!?

This happens to me on other mods like Portal Prelude and Unity, I think Valve has something to do with this. No idea.
