Computer shuts down during game
I'm at my grandma's house and the computer here isn't as good as mine at home. I beat the final boss and when I destroyed the final core, the game disappeared and it went back to the desktop. The screen then said "shutting down". It just shut down, not restarted. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Sounds like the game crashed when loading the ending cutscene/music and then windows shut down for some reason afterwords. If you can duplicate the problem a second time, post your computer specs and windows version and perhaps someone can help ya figure out what it is.
idk how to view the computer specs
A program like http://www.hwinfo.com/ will tell you a lot of things about your computer such as videocard, amount of ram, processor, and temperatures among other things. The important ones to know are definitely videocard, ram, windows version, processor, possibly videocard driver version/date.

Before bothering with that i would suggest trying to finish the game again. If it does not crash in the same place again, then it was probably just a fluke and theres likely no need to troubleshoot.

I just found this out. I played Switchball, a 2007 puzzle physics game. After I exited the game I launched portal. The computer then shut down. I have ALL saettings on Switchball on lowest. I guyss that the computer can't handle the game. The game runs smooth though. I guess that this computer can't handle the amount of things happening at such high graphical settings.

Turning graphical settings down can help troubleshoot if some advanced setting does not work properly on your machine, but it sounds like its a different problem depending on how long you can play for without it crashing. Did it shut down like a normal windows shut down after the game crashed?
It just came up w/ the "apps are running" screen, then shut down.

I know this is a stupid possible answer, but could it have just been an update? Sometimes, some computers will shut down forcibly when there is an important update.
ok good to know
