Portal 3?

I am new on Steam and I am currently i the middle of Portal 2 and have already been hearing there is supposed to be a 3...so anybody know for sure?

No. Portal 3 should not happen. Just enjoy a good game for what it is, not begging for more like a hungry dog.

Well, Valve is now starting to produce #3 games (Half-Life 3) and seeing as Portal is so popular...
There were loads of features cut from the first game, so maybe they will make one that can include these...

In the end of P2, GlaDoS lets Chell go . There's no way they could bring us another forward-moving chapter of the story unless they took out the main protagonist all together. Valve tried this in Portal 2 beta by changing the female to a blonde named Mel. Playtesters really hated the fact that GLaDoS didn't recognize them as Chell, so they retconn'd the end for Portal in order to bring her back.

The only thing they could do is a pre-quel, which would link all those lingering plotholes, like why is the Borealis from Black Mesa found in the abandoned test areas, what happened prior to the neurotoxin, and maybe...hopefully, if the companion cubes are former test subjects.

It's the rumor if there is going to be Portal 3 but it's the same thing as HL3, I think Valve is keeping a secret...

I think that if there is a portal 3 it would be half-life 3 as well

Others have mentioned talk about Portal 3 being cancelled, but honestly I, myself, believe they will continue the Portal series, but Valve will probably focus more on Half-Life 3 because it is their more famous game put out.
