Gamepad Help

I need help with my gamepad. It's a PS3 controller, (one of the "fake" wired ones by tomee, the cheap ones) that works fine with most games. But if it's made by valve, it just causes problems.

I've tried motioninjoy and joytokey. Both programs fail to help.

Motioninjoy fails to detect the controller.
Joytokey works, except the camera is like mixed with the left analog and it's incredibly hard to move around in the area. Any tips, or should I just order an XBox 360 controller?

I feel your pain, Gumball. I've tried both Enjoy2 and Enjoyable to map my PS3 controller to Portal on OSX, but whenever I start the game, the right joystick controlling mouse movements locks up. It will work just fine for a few seconds, but always fails within a minute or two. It seems to work fine with all the other games I've tried so far, so I don't know what gives. I sure hope someone out there does.

Sadly, the only fix that I could do to make it work was get a 360 gamepad. It works great on 360, but now I just need to find out how to make it work on PS3... (a good idea would be to use xpadder)

Thanks for the input, John. I was afraid that would be the case. Sadly, it looks like I'll probably just get a new game :(
