Transmission Recieved and Camera Shy Achievements.

First of all, the guides say that you must not load any saves, otherwise the counter will be restarted. Is this legit for both of the achievements? Also, what if I die? Will the counter restart again because it loads a previous save? And what if I try to do this via the challenge or advanced maps?

I died when going for both achievements and still got them. But I did not loaded any saved game.

You cannot obtain tse two achievements through the challenge/advanded maps.

I recommend you to try both achievements at the same time so you don't have to play all the chambers twice.

Yeah, that is what I'm going for. So it's okay to die as long as I don't load any saved games. I'll try it tomorrow.

Camera Shy has to be done in one playthrough but Transmission Recieved does not.

Just did them myself. elvirus21 is correct.

You can actually load saves. More importantly keep an eye on the achievement counter (Portal menu, not Steam overlay). The walkthrough I used numbered the cameras which helped a lot as after a random death I found that even though the count was correct before I died, one of the cameras hadn't registered in the last couple of saves and wasn't on the wall to detach either. I had to go back to an earlier save where the count was OK and redo the last few chambers.

I have completed both transmission recieved and camera shy in one playthrough, no deaths, multiple times but my achievements insist that for each one I am missing one radio and one camera even after playing them both with numbered walkthroughs. I am convinced that it's a glitch, any advice?

I am playing again for the Transmission and the camera shy. ON lvl 9 when I get the radio it keeps getting melted in the door way, I have to reload the map but cant seem to save the radio. Wiill thiss mess up the counter? can I skip it and come back to the save?


EDIT Ok, I just reloaded lvl 10 and got the radio and it still gave the achievment
