PS4 controller support?
Hello,

I've just bought my first game on Steam (the pack with Portal 1 & 2) and I'd like to play them with my girlfriend using two PS4 joysticks.

I've tried to start Portal 1 and use the PS4 pad, it was not mapped correctly (I think it's quite normal) so I've mapped everything manually reading the original PS3 commands from this site (http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Portal/Controls)

I've then enabled the joystick support to move the view and the player using the two analogs.
Everything works, but with some big problem:

1. I can't correctly move my character because looks like it takes the mouse position and make me move sideways.
2. I don't know how to assign two buttons to the same commands.

May someone help me configuring it? I've found a "Portal 2.pin" for Portal 2 (and I hope it will works), maybe there is something similar for Portal 1?

Thanks.

well you can try setting the controller buttons in the keyboard section but some buttons, like game menu are seemingly hard assigned (like opening the menu is whatever the system recognizes as BUtton 8, which is in case of my XEOX PS3/PC Controller what you call R2 on the PS Controller

1. Download this software: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-DS4Windows-yet-another-DualShock-4-driver-No-longer-under-active-development

2. Follow the instructions in the link to properly install it.

3. Once installed, before playing, exit Steam completely. Start the application and connect your DS4(s). Be sure the box "hide DS4 controller" is checked. Now start Steam again. Your controller(s) should now be recognized as a 360 controller and work properly. You will still see Xbox button prompts, but if you are familiar with its layout this shouldn't be an issue.

You're welcome.

you can also use JoytoKey and use that with portal, but unbind the keys in the dev console. and it works pretty nice, especially when you can change the mouse speed with holding a button to change stick sensitivity.
