We're actually big believers in Linux as a gaming platform -- see FRONTIERS for example, which several members of our team worked on -- and we'd love to offer Mac and Linux versions at launch. However, Euclidean is a strongly VR-focused game, which means Windows is our only realistic option for now. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for Mac and Linux to get more thorough VR support in place.

Shame about the Oculus ditching their Linux support; I get your point of view. I hope you'll take a look at porting it again when the Steam VR / Vive gets released - I know I'll be getting one :D

I'm interested in a GNU/Linux build too. I don't give a duck about Occulus, I only care about HTC Vive anyway, so I'm hoping Linux will be taken seriously thanks to them.

I'm slightly more excited about the Vive more than I am the Rift, but either way the arrival of commercial headsets is gonna be huge. That's why we founded Alpha Wave, to jump on it early. We'll certainly do our next visibility round when the Vive gets released.

Porting Euclidean will be a priority once the support we need is in place.

So is this game only fun with VR? I have zero interest in VR.

Just dropping in to say we've started work on a Linux port.

VR is how I prefer to play it but it's very playable in 2D as well.

Cybolic - we've got a Linux build almost ready for release. If you'd like to help us test it, we'd be happy to offer you a free key.

[edit: should make it clear that this would be the 2D version, not the VR version.]

Absolutely! :D I'm ready to test!
Not to worry about the 2D/VR; I'm not getting a Vive until Valve starts actually supporting it on Linux like they promised ;)

Maybe the Linux version could support those red and blue 3D glasses that we used to get as kids in the cereal boxes? It seems that's as close to VR as we're going to get any time soon.

Hey - I'm generating keys for the Linux build now. I'll chat you a key once they arrive.

I'm afraid we're putting this on hold indefinitely. We're having nothing but trouble with plugin compatibility.

Ah bummer. :(
Well, at least you tried, so... friendly hug to you. :bpenguin:
