how does this game stands in comparison to gothic/risen?
i mean is it that casual or just fanboys are whining how much easy this is

you also got other good ones...i paid the 6 for just darksiders...everything else was extra...its all about perspective lol

It's pretty simplified. No thieving, smaller skill trees, much more linear storyline. It's got a lot less clunk, and it isn't as broken as Gothic 3, but it also has less character as well.

hell i loved gothic 3 ...with community patches:/

Its not as deep as the Gothic games (1-3) but its much better looking and more refined. Inventory system is way better and its still a very enjoyable rpg. The Gothic series are my favorite rpgs on the PC.

It depends on preference. I am playing Gothic 4 right now and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

I'm also playing Gothic 4 and enjoying it. I'm a HUGE fan of the combat. You can tell it lacks polish, but for the cheap price (I bought the pack from Humble Bundle) it's been a real gem.
