Game crashes on Start Up

Hello, ich downloaded Arcania 3 Days ago. Since that, i tried to fix the game starting. I already tried all types of repairing including, setting the sound to 16/24 bit 48khz. installing physx actual version. installing with and without firewall/antivirprogramm on and starting in compability mode and adminstrator and now im getting really annoyed.
because i always get the same error, when i start the game.
I get a small start window and after a few seconds appears a error message saying: (sry for bad englisch but im german) "arcania does not work anymore"....

im having windows8 64 bit
12gb ram DDR3
nvidia gtx650
AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core Processor

i really have no idea how to fix.... plz help :D

I have had the exact same problems, along with a support thread asking for help. What is wrong with this game? Can we at least get our money back if the game wont work?

same there. Downloaded demo - worked fine. Bought game and installed over a demo - crash at startup without any message from game

Solved. I DELORTED game and installed again - it works.
Looks like problem in installing game over a demo version.

well. i doubt that... cause i downloaded it in complete form without any demo or else and it crashes with windows appcrash message. I've tried two times to download and install it, but it seem worthless... I also have the same nature trouble with Two worlds II and i suspect that mb it's Steam trouble, not a game one..

I don't have the demo, and I deleted it and reinstalled it three times. It doesn't work.

so you have different issue... maybe compatibility mode with winXP SP3 and run as admin will do

I purchased this two days ago and it has never worked. I've tried everything suggested in every forum i've found. This is ridiculous :(

Hi,versuche es mal nit :" Dateien auf Fehler überprüfen " das findest Du indem Du auf Deiner Spiele-Liste auf dieses Game klickst.Mit rechts-klick kommt dann die verschiedenen Bereiche. Gehe auf " lokale Dateien" und dann auf " Dateien auf Fehler Prüfen " . Lass es mal durchlaufen und wenns fertig ist ,alles wieder schließen und dannn starte das Spiel . Vielleicht klappt es . Bei mir klappt es immer egal bei welchen Spiel ... sag mir Bescheid obs geklappt hat .

hat nicht geklappt. hab ich schon öfters versucht nach und vor installation.

but i fixed it. after reading some more community threads (thanks to google), i tried the last way mentioned in them. i deinstalled my avast! antivir and finally it worked. they say there is a problem with a communication somekind of .dll and arcania exe and the antivir programm detects it as problem. just deactivating did not work but after deinstalling everything works fine.
