Positive game review..

There are a number of "bad reviews" for this game so I thought I would balance it out.

If you liked the *old* Oblivion series then you will enjoy this game. The story is a bit shallow but the art-work is beautiful, the voice acting is not bad and there is plenty to see and do. It's a standard hero quest so there were no unusual suprises.

- I was able to finish the game without a technical problem. There were a few bugs / technical issues but the game saves often enough that I could just reload when I had a problem.
- There was not the usual "lets make him run for 20 minutes to waste some time" in ths game.
- There was not an usually large number of side questions or "get me a loaf of bread and I will get you some cold" quests. All of the quests contributed to the end of the game.
- No running an hour into a cave so you can run an hour back. There was always an exit back to the plot.
- The game did not require you to kill and search 20,000 zombies to find the magical key to the door.

If you enjoy a good story then set it to Easy and don't bother grinding. You don't need too.

In short.. I had a great time playing this game.

I'm shocked the game got so many bad reviews! I thought it was a very fun and a good adventure with good looking graphics! I tried the Risen demo and didn't like it...

If you liked this game you may also enjoy any of the Dragon Age series. I loved Divinity.

I can see why the game was rated badly by some people but I am liking it so far, once you get past some of the glitchy parts It actually gets to be a pretty fun game.

I enjoyed game also. There are always many RPG's others hate that I really enjoyed, especially this one and The Last Remnant, it got bad reviews and I spent 50+ hours playing it on another system.

yes i am enjoying this game aswell, i am stuck on this part and i don't know where to go, all i know is that the bridge is broken for the way to that place on top of the hill, and when i tried to go around through the caves the far exit was locked:( idk if i missed something or what but if anyone knows can you let me know thanks guys :)

Underrated game. But should be played on hard. On normal is too easy and gets boring fast.

I quite enjoyed it, but come on.. the story presentation was dull and you have almost no freedom.

Freedom is overrated. I like sandboxes, but I also like games that stay on tracks.

it's a game just not a gothic game, way to linier.

This is gothic 4. And it's a decent gothic game. And i owned and play all the saga. Only Gothic 3 was really 100% open world. Gothic 4 isn't much more linear than gothic and gothic 2. I'm a few tired of the fool yihadist of gothic than want to say to the 95% of the gothic's player what is gothic, and what we must play, and what we must do whit our lifes.

to put it bluntly Arcania is more of a Spin-off series because it doesn't follow any of the characters from the original gothic series and vaguely uses the king plot.and is a way to linear and a little to cliche'd at the start not to mention you are not given much of a choice just the illusion of choice.
