no controlls?

i started playing Arcania - Gothic 4 today and realized that whatever i press i cant move at all. i decided to go into options and change the controls and then found out that there were no keys assigned to any actions, when i try to assign w,a,s,d to forward, backwards, left and right it just dosen't enter anything into the bar.
does anybody know what to do about this?

replace your keyboard batteries.

if a wired keyboard and plug and replug the keyboard. could be a loose connection. try verifying integraty of cache.
