How to become powerful fast and cheaply

I need to learn how to become powerful fast but without spending much money and help?

Start out as a rogue, build a pub instantly or buy one if one is already built and for sale.. Goto building upgrade and buy a gaming table.. Bring your character to the pub, save the game.. Then bet max at the gaming table, if you lose, reload your game and try again until you win.. Rinse and repeat as many times as you want.. Save over and over

If your lucky you can make over 1 million gold in like 15 minutes if you keep winning without having to restart.. Good luck, hope it helps!

If you just want to get going faster, you can edit the config file. It lets you start with a wife, businesses, houses, and whatever amount of money you want.

Look for the following and modify them as you wish (these are the defaults):

At the start of the game go buy a title, then upgrade your house. Hire a thug and use him to bomb mines till the are low and capture it. Use the mine to mine gems and gold. keep Bombing and capturing the mines around the maps for more money. Also for the first mine try to fine the one closest to the gems/gold piles.

Never thought about bombing the mines, it is a pain to buy one legit. For fast coin rogue is the way to go, you can rob the local mines, or if you don't care about enemies find a wealthy place outside of town. Normally a high in political will own it, then you wait till dark and kidnap the owner, or the owners spouse then demand a ransom. As a stick in the eye you can rob, or loot the building after you get the ransom.

I hav found the fastest way to legitly earn money early in the game is to own a mecenary castle. Send guy to colect road tolls on the routes betwenn towns.

If by powerful you mean get office seat then you want to make good relations with highest office holder. Though you might have to get courting from day 1 so you can raise standing quite fast. Your male char talks with opponents female char and the other way round.

Selling Fried Herring has always been my favorite way of making money.

To get gold quickly to start, choose a workshop that is mostly self sufficient. Mines are great bu expensive, crofts and fisher shacks are good for cash as well. You can make decent gold running a brickery and making pots and busts pretty quickly, build it near the clay and quarry. Once you build up a decent mound of cash to invest, make a new workshop that uses those raw materials. Farm and Orchards supply a brewery or bakeshop well. Mines supply smithies, woodcutter shacks supply turneries and churches that make lots of papers and poems. Try to marry outside your profession and team up with another class to get at resources you can't harvest with your own buildings.

A fisherman patron selling fried herring is one of my favorite starting points too. ;) They can harvest it all on their own, and herring usually sells just as well as the smoked salmon. Plus at higher building levels, mussel soups and pearl necklaces!

For money, I usually start with craftsmen. Most of their shops make goods that sell for decent gold, especially the smithy. It also has the added bonus of making an armorsmith to arm all of your dynasty members to the hilt with fullplates, helms and longswords to thwart those pesky bandits and thugs.

Always sell your goods when the market is starving with them and sell in bulk with a nice horse or oxcart filled to the brim. If you nickle and dime your sales 10 at a time several times a day, the selling price will turn a measly red color. Have your workers pile up 40-60 units of goods and send the cart around 18:00-20:00 hours and flood that market so hard it takes 24 hours to dry up again. And if other dynasties are flooding the market with similar goods, burn their workshops down or hit them with stinkbombs or flowers of discord to interrupt their production.

Non cheaty - Make a farm and build up from there.. I prefer placing your farm in a wide opened space so you can make an "estate" with a storehouse,farm,windmill,and orchard

Mine as well. It's easy to setup to be fully automated unlike many businesses. The Hansa is really good for this. Bury all markets with fried herring!

For "****in" FUN, duh. it's not your game, why do you care?
It used to be after you played any game for a while you could just mess around and input cheats, just for the fun of dominating the computer, and cheat sites actually had cheats on them instead of just stupid unlockables.

after all the point of a game is FUN.
